Mission For Full Ministry:

We are dedicated to providing nutritious, emergency food assistance to individuals and families in Polk County and surrounding area with kindness, compassion, and dignity, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, or disability.

Eligibility & Access:

  • Service Area: Residents within Davenport & surrounding areas.

  • Documentation: Documentation is not required.

  • Frequency of Use: Households may receive assistance once per month to

  • ensure equitable distribution among the community.

  • Non-Discrimination: No person shall be denied assistance on the basis of race,

  • color, religion, gender, age, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, or

  • disability.

 

Operating Hours & Structure:

  • Hours: Open Wednesday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm; Sunday from 10:30am-11:00am; 12:00pm-12:30pm.

  • Method: Choice Pantry (clients select items) & Financial Aid need-based.

  • Intake Process: Clients must register at each visit with name & household size.

  • Food Safety & Distribution Policies

  • No Food Waste: All food must be inspected for damaged packaging, expired dates, or compromised seals. Opened items or damaged cans will be discarded immediately.

  • Storage: Perishable items must be stored in refrigerators/freezers immediately upon delivery. Dry goods must be stored off the floor.

  • Restrictions: [List items not accepted, e.g., home-canned goods].

 

Client Dignity & Privacy:

  • Respectful Service: Volunteers and staff must treat all clients with empathy and kindness. Negative, judgmental, or patronizing language will not be tolerated.

  • Confidentiality: Client information (name & household size) is strictly confidential and will not be shared outside of mandatory reporting for food bank audits.

  • Privacy: If possible, intake should occur in a private or semi-private area.

Weekend Backpacks are available to support families in need of assistance (approval required). Students receive a backpack filled with food each Friday, including 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinner items, snacks, and occasional toiletry items. Backpacks must be returned every Monday to receive a new one for the week. Approval is coordinated through your school’s guidance counselor.

Las Mochilas de Fin de Semana están disponibles para apoyar a las familias que necesitan asistencia (requiere aprobación). Los estudiantes recibirán una mochila con alimentos cada viernes, que incluye 2 desayunos, 2 almuerzos, 3 comidas, refrigerios y, en ocasiones, artículos de higiene. Las mochilas deben devolverse cada lunes para poder recibir una nueva esa semana. La aprobación se coordina a través del consejero escolar de su escuela.
